YORK, Pa. — Shoppers at York Galleria hit the mall on Black Friday, hunting for big discounts and great deals.
Some shoppers were a bit let down.
“I came with my daughter hoping to find tons of deals. We found some, but not as many as in the past,” said Megan Reigel.
Others were happy with what they found.
“Many stores have 70% off, and some even up to 80%,” said Zachariah Ingram.
Black Friday is seen as the unofficial kickoff to the holiday shopping season.
“Several stores had early bird specials. The mall and stores are busy, and business seems to be good,” said Rachel Blouch.
The discounts are expected to continue through the weekend, with events like Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday adding more shopping opportunities.
“I think more people are shopping online now. Stores don’t seem as crowded as they used to be,” said Wendy Bartges.
