Public input needed for pennsylvania’s 2025 state rail plan – virtual meeting on dec. 10

People can learn about updates to Pennsylvania’s State Rail Plan at a virtual meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 10, from 4 to 5:30 p.m.

After the meeting, the public can share their opinions through an online survey, which will be available until December 19.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is working on the 2025 State Rail Plan, which was last updated in 2020. PennDOT is collaborating with the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) on this update. It’s important to get feedback from the public and other groups to help shape the plan.

The State Rail Plan will look at the future needs for both passenger and freight rail over the next 20 years, guiding investment decisions.

The virtual meeting will include an introduction to the plan and update process, information on freight and passenger rail, and a chance for participants to ask questions.

Before the meeting, participants should visit the Zoom link to join.

The meeting materials and the online survey will be available at advancingparail.com until December 19.
